Mapples

Mapples Creator is a visual builder for Expo and React Native apps. Design screens on a canvas, wire navigation, data and actions, and get a real Expo project you own.

What is Mapples?

Mapples has three parts that work together:

  • Mapples Creator — the web editor at app.mapples.org. Every app is a project: screens live inside navigation sections on a canvas, and four modes (Chat, Design, Develop, Prototype) cover design, logic and flows.
  • The mapples CLI — two-way sync between a project and an Expo app on your machine. Screens, components and design tokens are TSX and TS files in your repo; edits on either side are merged.
  • The @mapples/* packages — the open-source (MIT) runtime the generated app runs on: rendering, styling, forms, navigation and the component library.

Three ways to build

🎨

Design on the canvas

Drag elements from the library, style them with your theme tokens, make reusable components, link screens into flows and press Play to run the app at device size.

✨

Build with the assistant beta

Describe the app. The assistant proposes style directions, generates a design system, writes a build plan and builds the screens one step at a time, right on the canvas.

🤖

Build in your coding agent

One command scaffolds an Expo app linked to your project and installs Mapples skills for Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. The agent writes real code; the canvas follows every sync.

What you get

  • Real Expo code. Every screen is a TypeScript file built with Expo Router, @mapples/ui and @mapples/components. Open it in the editor with Open code, or sync it into your own repository.
  • Two-way sync. Edit a file and the canvas updates; move something on the canvas and the file changes. Conflicts never overwrite your work.
  • An open runtime. The @mapples/* packages are published on npm under the MIT licence and mirrored in mapples-open-kit.
  • Your projects in Claude. The MCP connector lets Claude Code or claude.ai list projects and read or update a project's design tokens.
